Starting tomorrow!by Joan Wolcott on 06/02/13
For those of you who are local, I’m having a show at the Lincoln Public Library Gallery this month (June 3-June 28). One of my favorite places, the library is an exquisite building combining old and new in Lincoln center, a beautiful part of town.
Why now? My first solo show was at this library in 2004 (Creation Scrolls). I signed up for another show afterwards, and the next spot available was June 2013! So, even though my work has taken a turn in a new direction, I thought I’d gather some work done in the interim and share it here in Lincoln. The show includes drawings from nature done while Craig and I had our studio in Waltham, a growing and fruitful time for us. Presenting the work anew has been an important step of appreciation, especially valuing the experiences and deeper lessons gained from doing it. My hope is that it will inspire others’ creative efforts and growth!
And...next to the gallery is an atrium where my husband, Craig Elliott will have two glass pieces --one that is currently up, and a new one coming for the reception!
